Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Drive solution design from discovery through delivery, including shaping epics, validating assumptions, surfacing risks, and aligning teams to target architecture.
- Partner with engineering, product, and agile leaders to prioritize architectural investments and balance near-term delivery with long-term platform health.
- Champion Cox Automotive’s Common tenancy and user management platforms and AWS-native patterns.
- Identify and evaluate generative AI capabilities, align implementations with Retail Agentic Platform standards, and establish reusable architecture practices.
- Create and maintain architectural roadmaps, decision records, solution diagrams, and integration models.
- Assess emerging AI technologies and coordinate with governance partners on ethical, regulatory, security, and enterprise standards.
- Translate business objectives into solution options, trade-offs, and technical recommendations.
- Mentor engineering teams through hands-on guidance, design reviews, and approved AI architecture patterns.
- Lead proofs of concept and reference implementations to validate assumptions, reduce delivery risk, and establish reusable patterns.
- Drive platform thinking, API governance, contract management, standards, reuse, and shared capabilities across delivery streams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and 10 years of experience in a related field, or a master’s degree with 6 years, a Ph.D. with 3 years, or 20 years of related experience.
- Proven ability to align stakeholders around technical direction, navigate ambiguity, and drive consensus across engineering, product, and business teams.
- Highly analytical, technically deep, and capable of rapidly delivering proofs of concept and experimentation.
- Broad architectural knowledge across application, integration, and platform domains, with the ability to connect technical decisions to business outcomes.
- Extensive application architecture and API delivery experience at scale.
- Experience developing APIs at scale using GraphQL and/or REST.
- Significant experience delivering applications and architecture services in production across the full development lifecycle.
- Strong public cloud architecture and delivery experience, preferably with AWS.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, autonomous agents, vector databases, model selection, agent-based architecture, data pipelines, and AI-assisted product development lifecycles.
- Experience working in DevOps cultures with process improvement, automation, and continuous delivery.
- Understanding of distributed systems, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, varied application and data workloads, and operational reporting.
- Experience establishing API governance, API contract management, and engineering standards.
- Track record of mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction without formal authority.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required.
