Responsibilities
- Own system-level quality for Portworx Enterprise across Kubernetes, storage, and modern virtualization environments.
- Develop test plans, test strategies, and automation for concurrent product and feature releases.
- Build and maintain scalable automation test suites, particularly using Golang.
- Validate high availability, resiliency, disaster recovery, upgrades, scale, and failure scenarios in large-scale Kubernetes environments.
- Identify coverage gaps, assess risks, and drive improvements to product quality.
- Collaborate with development, QE, and architecture teams to troubleshoot system-level issues and support timely releases.
- Ensure CI/CD pipelines and automation infrastructure execute functional, regression, and system test strategies.
- Mentor engineers and conduct automation and code reviews.
Requirements
- 8+ years of engineering-for-quality experience and the ability to design complex distributed-system test failure scenarios.
- Strong Golang and/or Python programming skills, with Golang preferred.
- Software testing or SDET experience involving distributed systems, infrastructure, storage, or virtualization.
- Strong debugging skills across Kubernetes, Linux, storage, and virtualization.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Kubernetes application lifecycle management.
- Experience with VMware, Hyper-V, KubeVirt, or Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization is highly desirable.
- Strong background in enterprise file, block, and object storage and Kubernetes persistent storage/CSI.
- Experience developing and maintaining automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as OpenShift, EKS, AKS, or GKE is preferred.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud is preferred.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins/GitHub Actions, Jira, Confluence, and Xray is preferred.
- Ability to lead by example, take end-to-end ownership of product quality, manage concurrent releases, and collaborate across distributed teams.
- Strong communication, collaboration, debugging, mentoring, and code-review skills.
