Base Salary

$102k - $219k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Build and improve scalable, highly reliable services.
  • Deliver and improve engineering systems and practices for complex cloud environments.
  • Design and automate service-scaling features and customer requirements.
  • Investigate pre-production and production issues and implement and deploy fixes.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation, typically one week every 6–8 weeks, within a secure facility.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure services and systems are stable, performant, and meet service-level expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field and 2+ years of technical engineering experience coding in languages including C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Government Top Secret Clearance with SCI access based on an SSBI with polygraph.
  • U.S. citizenship verification is required because of citizenship-based legal restrictions.
  • Successful clearance verification, Microsoft Cloud background check, and applicable customer or government security screening are required.
  • Preferred qualifications include Windows or Linux hands-on systems experience, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, GitHub, production service development, monitoring, alerting, reliability measurement, scripting, debugging across operating systems through cloud environments, and operational support experience.
  • Preferred candidates understand CI/CD concepts and Git and can collaborate with Software Engineers, Program Managers, Security Researchers, and Data Scientists.

  • The typical U.S. base pay range is $102,100–$202,200 per year, with a separate San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area range of $133,800–$219,200 per year.
  • Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
  • The position includes a 24/7 live-site support model and an on-call rotation typically occurring one week every 6–8 weeks.
  • The role is based within a secure facility and remains open for at least five days until filled.
