Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end technical strategy for customer accounts from discovery through production deployment and consumption growth.
- Lead architecture discussions and design scalable production-grade solutions spanning data engineering, ML/AI, real-time analytics, streaming, and lakehouse patterns.
- Advise customer architects, engineering leads, directors, and executive audiences on technical solutions and business value.
- Drive competitive technical wins through custom-built Databricks solutions and platform differentiation.
- Develop a technical specialization and serve as a go-to resource within the team.
- Orchestrate DSAs, SSAs, and partners to deliver comprehensive solutions.
- Provide structured feedback on customer requirements and competitive gaps to influence product direction.
Requirements
- 6+ years of experience in solutions architecture, data engineering, technical pre-sales, or a senior hands-on technical role.
- Strong coding proficiency in Python and SQL, including live coding, debugging, and solution building.
- Deep expertise in distributed data systems, scalable pipelines, streaming architectures, lakehouse patterns, and cloud-native data platforms.
- Proficiency with the Databricks Platform or the ability to rapidly develop proficiency, plus a developing technical specialization.
- Experience leading architecture discussions, whiteboarding sessions, design reviews, and trade-off analyses with senior technical stakeholders.
- Production deployment experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure, security, and governance considerations.
- Demonstrated success driving platform adoption and consumption growth within customer accounts.
- Excellent communication skills for translating complex architectures into value for technical and executive audiences.
- Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Databricks certifications, experience with Snowflake or Azure Synapse, competitive AWS native services knowledge, data/AI or cloud-provider experience, and industry expertise are preferred.
