Responsibilities
- Own and evolve edge infrastructure, including CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, CDN failover strategies, and latency-optimized routing.
- Design, build, maintain, observe, and extend cloud-platform services and CLI tooling, primarily in Go.
- Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure costs, including billing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and right-sizing.
- Lead architecture decisions for cloud topology, multi-account governance, cross-region connectivity, and platform abstractions.
- Collaborate with SRE, Security, and Platform teams to embed observability, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Troubleshoot distributed cloud network issues using TCP/IP and traffic-flow analysis.
- Design and operate global partner and bank connectivity using VPNs, IPSec/IKEv2, Direct Connect, and BGP routing.
- Participate in a five-person weekly on-call rotation and occasional late syncs with Seattle from 4–6 PM CET.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in software, cloud, or infrastructure engineering, including production-code development.
- Significant hands-on AWS experience.
- Proficiency developing distributed systems with Go, Python, or similar languages.
- Experience designing, building, and operating production services rather than only scripts.
- Knowledge of VPC design and subnetting, routing, Transit Gateway, DNS, and load balancing.
- Experience managing CloudFront distributions, AWS Shield, WAF configurations, and CDN failover strategies.
- Experience building and operating infrastructure as code, with Terraform preferred.
- Cloud cost-optimization experience, including AWS billing, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and right-sizing.
- Understanding of multi-account governance and organizational cloud tooling.
- Kubernetes or EKS familiarity is preferred.
