Responsibilities
- Own scheduled regression, BVT, integration, UI/functional, nightly, and on-demand CI/CD workflows for appliance main and release branches.
- Author and maintain GitHub Actions workflows and reusable actions, including cross-repository orchestration, matrix builds, self-hosted runners, and secrets and permissions management.
- Migrate legacy Jenkins jobs to GitHub Actions and implement preventative branch gates, merge queues, speculative or batch merging, and automated flaky-test quarantine.
- Administer GitHub repositories, branch protections, teams, user access, branches, builds, and artifacts.
- Modernize bare-metal and virtual build and lab infrastructure through ephemeral runners, automated patching, and infrastructure as code.
- Manage code signing, release packaging, build metadata, release-note and changelog generation, and validation of physical and virtual targets.
- Operate security and quality scanning pipelines, including SAST, SCA, vulnerability scanning, platform administration, and remediation-work tracking.
- Extend short-lived OIDC credentials and least-privilege identity mechanisms across appliance build and lab systems.
- Develop AI-assisted and agentic automation for triage, reporting, release notes, remediation, environment refreshes, credential rotation, and scan-to-ticket workflows with human review gates.
- Support container build and publishing, environment provisioning, Serverless Framework deployment automation, and cloud infrastructure for Go and Node microservices.
- Coordinate with engineering, QA, release management, and platform teams and document operational runbooks.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, release engineering, build engineering, or Linux systems administration supporting a production software product.
- Strong Bash and Python scripting skills.
- Hands-on experience with GitHub Actions, including cross-repository orchestration, self-hosted runners, matrix strategies, and secrets management; Jenkins migration experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of JVM or compiled-language build lifecycles such as Ant or Gradle and legacy CI scheduler decommissioning.
- Solid Linux systems administration experience, including package and service management, capacity planning, scheduled jobs, credential management, and troubleshooting production build and lab hosts.
- Experience administering GitHub repositories, branch protections, teams, and access at organization scale.
- Experience triaging CI/CD failures and distinguishing product regressions from environmental or infrastructure flakiness.
- Familiarity with semantic-release, conventional commits, build signing, versioning, and release-candidate validation.
- Demonstrated experience using AI-assisted or agentic tools such as Claude Code or GitHub Copilot in operational or automation work.
- Experience with security and quality scanning tools and converting findings into actionable engineering work.
- Strong written communication and cross-team coordination skills.
- Working knowledge of Docker and container packaging.
- BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Preferred qualifications include appliance build-farm or lab ownership, network security or embedded release experience, vulnerability and patch management, Coverity or Black Duck administration, LLM-assisted operational workflows, merge-queue systems, AWS/Azure/GCP infrastructure, Kubernetes, artifact registries, and Serverless Framework or AWS Lambda/API Gateway deployment automation.
