Responsibilities
- Architect and govern an enterprise observability framework covering metrics, logs, traces, and events.
- Lead FOAK observability implementations and convert new technologies into secure, repeatable production patterns.
- Define standards for telemetry pipelines, retention, high-cardinality controls, and observability cost management.
- Establish SLIs, SLOs, error budgets, event correlation, dynamic thresholds, and dependency mapping.
- Lead P1/P2 incident war rooms, technical escalations, and evidence-based root-cause analysis.
- Drive observability-as-code, infrastructure automation, monitoring-agent deployment, and self-healing workflows.
- Design observability for Kubernetes, Docker, microservices, and AWS, Azure, and GCP environments.
- Lead knowledge-transfer programs, vendor transitions, operational handovers, and technical roadmap initiatives.
- Mentor cross-functional engineering teams and support global 24x7 operations.
Requirements
- 12+ years of total IT experience.
- 5–7 years functioning as a Lead Architect, SRE, or Principal Observability Engineer in a massive enterprise environment.
- Experience migrating organizations from legacy monitoring to proactive, automated observability platforms.
- Hands-on experience building scalable, secure telemetry pipelines and time-series databases.
- Extensive experience leading FOAK rollouts and complex vendor or operations transition programs.
- Preferred certifications include CKA, AWS or Azure Cloud Architect, and APM or observability vendor certifications.
