Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain secure CI/CD pipelines with automated testing, quality gates, artifact management, release promotion, rollback, and deployment verification.
- Automate deployment, scaling, configuration, and monitoring of cloud infrastructure using Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Google Cloud services including Cloud Run.
- Own platform reliability through SRE practices, including service-level objectives, monitoring, alerting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and operational reviews.
- Build Python-based internal tools and platform capabilities that reduce operational toil and improve developer experience.
- Lead performance optimization for services, infrastructure, Cloud Run workloads, databases, and supporting platform components.
- Design and operate observability covering logs, metrics, traces, health checks, dashboards, and actionable alerts.
- Partner with development teams to improve application architecture, scalability, reliability, operability, code quality, and cost efficiency.
- Build, deploy, and maintain on-premises environments at customer sites, including installation, upgrades, configuration, diagnostics, and lifecycle support.
- Support software deployment models spanning cloud, customer data centers, and edge environments.
- Implement security, compliance, change management, incident response, and operational-readiness practices.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience as a full-stack or backend software developer who can write maintainable production code.
- Professional experience developing in Python and working with APIs, services, databases, automated tests, and source-control workflows.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure automation and technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and Google Cloud, including Cloud Run.
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed-system infrastructure, deployment, availability, latency, capacity, and performance issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for partnering with engineering, product, security, and customer-facing teams.
- Experience with GIS, mapping, spatial data, satellite or aerial imagery, remote sensing, computer vision, or earth-observation data is a plus.
- Experience with AI/ML platform operations, model-serving infrastructure, evaluation pipelines, PostgreSQL, production database optimization, infrastructure-as-code, GitOps, policy-as-code, or supply-chain security is a plus.
- Prior military, intelligence, defense, national security, or mission-operations experience is a plus.
- Experience operating software in disconnected, air-gapped, classified, or highly controlled environments is a plus.
