
Lead Software Engineer- Linux
JPMorgan ChaseResponsibilities
- Develop and troubleshoot software and infrastructure solutions across multiple technologies and applications.
- Test and certify Red Hat operating systems, create image formats, and automate end-to-end delivery using Ansible, Terraform, Jenkins, Bash, and Python.
- Build and maintain standardized operating environments and OS images for virtual and physical servers, desktops, GPUs, and containers across on-premises and cloud environments.
- Manage software distribution, primarily RPM packages, including testing, deployment, and production promotion across cloud environments.
- Automate Linux desktop provisioning and streamline RPM package testing and promotion pipelines.
- Design and develop integration components, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Drive adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices, establish validation standards, and promote secure and reusable engineering patterns.
- Coach engineers on responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, secure input and output handling, resiliency, and security expectations.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Strong Linux infrastructure development experience, including OS configuration, system hardening, kernel tuning, and package management.
- Experience with cloud, hybrid, and virtualized infrastructure and proficiency with modern software languages.
- Experience designing infrastructure automation with Ansible Core or Ansible Automation Platform, including playbooks, workflows, reusable roles, and modules.
- Hands-on experience with containers and Kubernetes-based orchestration in enterprise environments.
- Python experience building and maintaining automation solutions, along with knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, source control, and build automation tools.
- Experience supporting cross-platform infrastructure solutions with Windows Server.
- Experience building REST API-based microservices and providing feedback on Ansible design, architecture, and deployment processes.
- Experience leading the effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating their outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Preferred knowledge of Red Hat Satellite, Pulp, or JFrog Artifactory for software distribution and patch lifecycle management.
- Preferred experience building or contributing to AI agents, skills, and agentic workflows that integrate large language models into infrastructure tooling.
- Preferred knowledge of Citrix virtualization infrastructure.
