Base Salary
$75k - $112k/yr
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a portable C++17 library across iOS, Android, and low-power automotive embedded hardware.
- Improve map-matching and dead-reckoning algorithms using real-world vehicle data.
- Implement route progress reporting, deviation detection, and navigation instruction delivery.
- Develop road-object matching, live traffic incident, predictive caching, junction-view, and signpost capabilities.
- Integrate and extend the Valhalla routing engine for offline routing and route refresh controllers.
- Use AI tools thoughtfully in design and development to improve efficiency and code quality.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience with C++17 or later, including deep knowledge of the language specification, memory management, standard library, and multithreading.
- Experience writing clean, performant, portable code under strict CPU and memory constraints.
- Experience with complex graph-based structures, data structures, and spatial algorithms.
- Proven experience developing cross-platform code for Linux, mobile, or embedded systems.
- Strong English communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to peers and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with dead reckoning, bearing, Electronic Horizon, OpenLR, IMU, OBD-II, GNSS, computational geometry, ADAS, safety-critical features, or open-source routing engines is preferred.
