Base Salary
$119k - $153k/yr
Responsibilities
- Assist Product Management and the SDK team with defining stories and tasks.
- Own design, development, testing, and outcomes for assigned work while supporting DevOps pipelines.
- Design, implement, and maintain embedded Python runtime integration in a predominantly C++ engine and host environment.
- Own and evolve the Alteryx Python Tool, including C++ plugin engines and process lifecycle management.
- Develop and troubleshoot C++ SDK engine plugins, streaming pipelines, and Python-facing APIs.
- Debug native runtime issues involving DLL and .pyd conflicts, OpenSSL, and multiple Python versions.
- Modernize virtualenv/venv management, installer and packaging workflows, WiX installers, and native DLL exports.
- Maintain compiled Python extensions and compatibility with modern NumPy and CPython ABIs.
- Collaborate with security and platform teams to remediate native-library vulnerabilities and maintain SBOM health.
- Improve developer SDKs and debug C++/Python streaming and serialization issues for tool authors.
- Drive reliability and performance improvements in engine-to-Python bridges, including deadlock, crash, and throughput improvements.
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines and code-quality tooling for C++/Python repositories.
- Write architecture documentation, operational runbooks, and upgrade playbooks for Python/OpenSSL integration points.
- Participate in code reviews and mentor engineers on native-Python interoperability and cross-language debugging.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of Python and C++ design, development, and debugging experience.
- Experience with REST APIs and/or SDK development.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Experience with object-oriented and functional design patterns.
- Experience using Git and Git-based pipelines or equivalent.
- Experience mentoring and developing other engineers.
- Strong critical-thinking, decision-making, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Preferred experience with Node.js and cloud computing or managed services such as GCP, Azure, or AWS.
- Preferred frontend experience with React or a similar framework, JavaScript, and JSON.
- Preferred experience optimizing protocols and building efficient RPC systems, networking, concurrency, distributed computing, big data, and stream processing.
- Preferred container experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Rust and/or Golang familiarity is preferred.
- Experience with data preparation, blending, and predictive analytics workflow platforms such as Alteryx is preferred.
- Familiarity with AI-driven development in a modern IDE is preferred.
