Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend and frontend applications.
- Own architectural decisions for production-grade systems and communicate technical risks and tradeoffs.
- Develop server-to-browser interactions and WebSocket-based real-time user experiences.
- Design and optimize PostgreSQL data models, transactions, locks, constraints, indexes, and performance.
- Use Redis for caching, pub/sub messaging, and distributed locking.
- Implement payment processing, subscriptions, refunds, and reliable webhook handling.
- Develop and release LLM-powered functionality for external customers.
- Diagnose production issues involving potential financial loss, data problems, or service disruption.
- Use LLM-based development tools responsibly to improve productivity and code quality.
- Collaborate with company leadership and stakeholders on technical decisions.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer or Developer.
- At least 5 years of experience building full-stack production applications with Node.js and TypeScript or Python, React or an equivalent framework, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, HTTP/HTTPS, JSON, Git, and npm or pip.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and optimizing relational databases, including PostgreSQL, SQL, transactions, concurrency, locking, schema design, constraints, indexing, and performance tuning.
- At least 3 years of production experience with Redis, distributed caching, messaging, synchronization, distributed locks, and WebSocket-based real-time applications over TCP/IP.
- At least 3 years of production experience implementing payment processing, subscriptions, refunds, and webhook handling using Stripe or an equivalent payment gateway.
- At least 2 years of experience developing and releasing production-ready AI-powered features using LLM APIs, AI SDKs, and prompt engineering tools.
- Experience with large-scale systems serving hundreds of thousands or millions of users is preferred.
- Experience owning architectural decisions and supporting mission-critical systems is preferred.
- Strong structured thinking, independent troubleshooting ability, ownership, accountability, and communication skills are preferred.
- Good English communication skills are required.
