Base Salary
$189k - $274k/yr
Responsibilities
- Develop and support data software products across all phases of the software lifecycle, with 70–85% hands-on development.
- Design technical specifications and data models, lead initiatives, estimate work, and resolve complex cross-capability issues.
- Drive technical work across one or more teams and influence technology and product direction as a senior individual contributor.
- Mentor and assess engineers, lead collaborative technical sessions, and strengthen engineering capabilities and talent development.
- Partner with product managers, designers, and data scientists to test hypotheses and deliver measurable growth impact.
- Establish and promote standards across operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, and cost optimization.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong data engineering background.
- Expertise developing software in Java with Spring and Spring Boot, Scala for Spark streaming and Spark applications, or other JVM-based languages.
- 5+ years of expert professional experience with SQL, XML, JSON, YAML, Python, and Linux.
- Experience building and using AI/ML and generative AI applications, including personalization, recommendation engines, predictive modeling, or growth-focused applications.
- Experience using GenAI tools such as Cursor or Windsurf to accelerate development and build reusable GenAI platform components.
- Expertise with Docker, Spark, Scala, Jupyter Notebook, Databricks Notebooks, Kubernetes, feature management platforms, and SageMaker.
- Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including AWS services such as EC2, S3, EMR, DynamoDB, and Athena; AWS expertise is specifically noted.
- Professional experience with data warehousing, analytic architecture, large data volumes, and data visualization.
- Expert knowledge of software development methodologies and practices, including Agile Development, Scrum, and/or Extreme Programming.

- Expected base pay is $188,500–$255,000 in San Diego or $202,500–$274,000 in Mountain View, California.
