Responsibilities
- Analyze system, subsystem, and software requirements to define validation methods and test cases.
- Develop and maintain test plans, test procedures, and test cases.
- Prepare test reports, identify failure root causes, and investigate test anomalies.
- Develop test automation and conduct operational, stress-test, laboratory, and desktop simulation testing.
- Communicate test observations and results to engineering staff, supervisors, and customers.
- Identify and resolve safety-related defects and promote product safety in testing.
- Work across multiple projects, plan and prioritize work, and propose improvements to testing methods and processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent.
- At least 3 years of relevant software testing or development experience.
- Knowledge of modern software development processes and tools, including Agile, Scrum, and DevOps.
- Working knowledge of C, C++, Perl, or Python.
- Strong proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong planning, organization, technical writing, interpersonal communication, and English-language skills.
- Preferred experience in regulated industries such as rail signalling, aerospace, or medical systems.
- Preferred experience with real-time systems, embedded system testing, TCP/IP, UDP, 802.11, LTE, and transit rail systems, especially SELTRAC products.
