Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve complex backend services, APIs, and data models for content and product catalog experiences.
- Lead system design and low-level design for scalable, reusable content and catalog services, including APIs, contracts, and data modeling.
- Drive multi-service features through technical discovery, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and partner engineering teams to define requirements and deliver reusable content capabilities.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, observability, operational readiness, incident response, and engineering practices while mentoring other engineers.
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled and AI-assisted solutions in content workflows and services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience.
- Several years of experience owning backend or full-stack production services across design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Proven experience designing and implementing service-oriented or microservice architectures for complex content or catalog-like domains.
- Experience with API design, data modeling, and low-level or system design.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, preferably Kotlin or Java, and associated frameworks.
- Strong experience with relational or NoSQL databases, preferably Redis/Valkey, Cassandra, or ScyllaDB, including schema design and data access patterns.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with large-scale distributed content or catalog systems, technical leadership across multiple services, engineering automation and reliability improvements, AI/ML systems and applications, content-focused ML techniques, and translation, localization, or internationalization tools.
