Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve complex backend services, APIs, and data models for content and product catalog experiences.
- Lead system design and low-level design efforts, including API contracts and data modeling for scalable, reusable solutions.
- Drive multiservice features from technical discovery and design through implementation, testing, deployment, and operational support.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, and partner engineering teams to define requirements and deliver reusable content capabilities.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines, observability, operational readiness, and incident response for content systems.
- Mentor engineers and promote engineering best practices.
- Safely integrate and operate AI/ML-enabled and AI-assisted solutions in content workflows and services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent related professional experience.
- 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
- Several years of professional software development experience owning backend or full-stack services in production, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and operations.
- Proven experience designing and implementing service-oriented or microservice architectures for complex content or catalog-like domains.
- Experience with API design, data modeling, and low-level or system design.
- Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages, preferably Kotlin or Java, and associated frameworks.
- Strong experience with relational or NoSQL databases, preferably Redis/Valkey, Cassandra, or ScyllaDB, including schema design and data access patterns.
- Experience designing and operating large-scale, high-throughput distributed systems with focus on performance, availability, resilience, and cost efficiency.
- Demonstrated technical leadership across multiple services or a domain.
- Experience improving engineering efficiency and reliability through automation, CI/CD optimization, testing strategy, observability, and operational excellence.
- Familiarity with AI-driven systems and applying AI/ML concepts to real-world products.
- Experience applying AI or ML techniques such as classification, enrichment, deduplication, or recommendation to content-centric or data-rich systems.
- Experience with translation, localization, and internationalization tools and technologies.
