Base Salary
$175k - $185k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services across Rails and Go microservices.
- Support the migration from a Rails monolith to microservices.
- Build and maintain backend APIs for internal tooling.
- Lead the technical delivery of complex features from requirements to deployment.
- Diagnose and resolve performance bottlenecks in backend systems.
- Propose and drive architectural decisions for team services.
- Mentor junior engineers through code reviews and technical guidance.
- Advocate for best practices in code quality and deployment.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate goals into technical solutions.
- Participate in on-call rotation for production incidents.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience with Ruby on Rails and Go.
- Proven track record of delivering complex features in a team environment.
- Experience with monolith-to-microservices migrations and maintaining backward compatibility.
- Strong proficiency in Rails and Go, with a deep understanding of both frameworks.
- Solid PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience with API design and service boundary design.
- Familiarity with asynchronous workflows and event-driven architectures.
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Understanding of observability practices including logging and metrics.
