Responsibilities
- Lead teams developing, testing, documenting, and deploying scalable production software.
- Design and implement backend features supporting promotions, rewards, and the broader Fanatics ecosystem.
- Make short- and long-term technical and architectural trade-off decisions and resolve architecture deficiencies.
- Triage production issues, mitigate immediate risk, identify root causes, and participate in on-call support when needed.
- Lead code reviews, improve testability and operational excellence, and maintain team documentation.
- Advise technology leaders, product teams, and internal stakeholders on technology decisions.
- Mentor and coach engineers and help improve onboarding.
- Contribute to planning, requirements clarification, design discussions, estimates, and engineering best practices.
- Remain open to occasional travel for offices, conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience building highly scalable and fault-tolerant systems.
- Broad understanding of software design approaches and ability to triage and debug system-wide production issues.
- Demonstrated experience mentoring engineers.
- Ability to communicate complex technical subjects to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Agile software delivery and Scrum methodology.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, cross-functional collaboration, and adaptability skills.
- Preferred: experience leading a development team for at least 1 year.
- Preferred: experience with Java/Spring Boot, React, Apache Kafka, AWS, and PostgreSQL.
- Preferred: startup experience.
Benefits
- Salary range of €101,200–€126,500 EUR.
