Responsibilities
- Own a major modernization stream transitioning critical systems to microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Design, build, and deliver scalable software applications for payment processing.
- Collaborate with product, architecture, operations, and compliance teams to translate business needs into technical outcomes.
- Use Java, AWS, Kafka, and Kubernetes to develop secure, reliable, and performant solutions.
- Champion code reviews, testing practices, CI/CD improvements, and modern engineering practices.
- Mentor junior engineers and uplift team capabilities.
- Drive initiatives from concept through production while balancing modernization and near-term delivery.
Requirements
- Proven experience leading software development initiatives in complex, distributed environments.
- Strong proficiency in Java and deep experience with modern frameworks and tooling.
- Hands-on experience with AWS services and cloud-native application design.
- Expertise in Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms and event-driven patterns.
- Practical knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Preferred: experience in financial services or payments, legacy modernization of mission-critical systems, and introducing tools or practices that improve delivery and product quality.
