Base Salary
$253k - $317k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain AvalancheGo, managing contributions from the team and community.
- Set and enforce engineering standards for production quality.
- Design and advance critical systems within the Avalanche network.
- Establish observability standards and lead incident reviews.
- Own the engineering lifecycle for network-critical code.
- Mentor senior engineers and promote shared standards.
- Evangelize the project through technical communications and community engagement.
- Drive protocol direction through the Avalanche Community Proposal process.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years at a staff/lead level.
- Expert-level proficiency in Go, including concurrency and performance tuning.
- Significant open source experience as a maintainer or core contributor.
- Proven experience in designing and operating distributed systems at scale.
- Strong testing discipline across various testing methodologies.
- Experience with release engineering and backward compatibility.
- Fluency with Linux-based infrastructure and containerization tools.
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
