Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture and implementation of authentication, authorization, identity federation, and fine-grained access control.
  • Own architecture for RBAC, ReBAC, ABAC, ACLs, policy engines, and relationship graphs.
  • Design authorization for web applications, mobile applications, APIs, microservices, AI Gateway, agent runtime, MCP tools, Knowledge Graph, and vector stores.
  • Design authorization decision architecture involving policy enforcement points, policy decision points, policy stores, relationship stores, and decisions.
  • Lead adoption of OpenFGA, SpiceDB, Cedar, Open Policy Agent, and Zanzibar concepts.
  • Partner with platform teams on API Gateway, AI Gateway, Kubernetes, service mesh, and mTLS.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of security platform experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building authorization engines using RBAC, ReBAC, ABAC, and ACL.
  • Experience designing authorization for multi-tenant SaaS platforms, microservices, and APIs.
  • Experience with OAuth2, OpenID Connect, JWT, and SAML.
  • Strong distributed-systems experience.
  • Google Zanzibar, OpenFGA, SpiceDB, OPA, Cedar, Envoy, Istio, and SPIFFE/SPIRE experience is preferred.
