Base Salary
$135k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance software features for wireless communication systems and protocol stacks.
- Develop production-quality software in C/C++ and Python for Linux environments.
- Analyze and debug issues across PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, and NAS protocol layers.
- Investigate customer deployment and integration issues through logs, traces, packet captures, signaling analysis, performance metrics, and debugging tools.
- Modify existing software and develop customer-specific code, APIs, automation frameworks, diagnostics, prototypes, and protocol enhancements.
- Collaborate with customer engineering teams and Keysight R&D to resolve root causes and translate field findings into product improvements.
- Lead technical discussions with customers regarding protocol implementation, system architecture, and performance optimization.
- Participate in code reviews, validation, software releases, and deployment of new features into customer development environments.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 6 to 7 years of experience in software development for wireless communication systems.
- Strong hands-on software development experience with C/C++ and Python in Linux environments.
- Solid understanding of 4G LTE, 5G NR, or 5G-Advanced technologies and deep understanding of 3GPP protocols across Layers 1–3, particularly RRC and NAS.
- Experience developing within one or more wireless protocol-stack layers, including PHY, MAC, RLC, PDCP, RRC, or NAS.
- Demonstrated ownership of software design, implementation, debugging, maintenance, and production delivery.
- Experience troubleshooting complex software and protocol issues across multiple wireless-stack layers.
- Experience with software architecture, existing codebases, code reviews, collaborative development, and production-quality testing.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Preferred qualifications include modem software, protocol-stack development, wireless infrastructure, device testing, network simulation, embedded software, real-time systems, firmware, APIs, automation frameworks, wireless test and measurement, customer-facing technical projects, and emerging 5G-Advanced, NTN, Open RAN, or 6G technologies.
