$149k - $297k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models for clinical OCT image segmentation, feature detection, classification, and quantitative analysis.
- Lead advanced semantic segmentation algorithm development for OCT-based vascular imaging.
- Own data preparation, annotation strategies, model development, training, validation, performance optimization, and deployment across the ML lifecycle.
- Collaborate with clinical and V&V teams on clinically meaningful outputs, evaluation metrics, and validation methodologies.
- Develop robust algorithms across diverse patient populations, imaging conditions, and clinical use cases.
- Optimize models for real-time or near-real-time inference in embedded or product environments.
- Evaluate and integrate foundation models, self-supervised learning, and generative AI techniques where appropriate.
- Contribute to software architecture, code reviews, and maintainable AI engineering practices.
- Prepare technical documentation for design controls, verification, validation, risk management, and regulatory submissions.
Requirements
- Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related AI/ML-focused field.
- At least 8 years of industry experience developing machine learning, deep learning, or computer vision solutions, or at least 4 years of relevant industry experience with a PhD.
- Strong expertise in deep learning architectures and modern image-analysis methods, including convolutional neural networks and vision transformers.
- Proven experience with semantic segmentation, object detection, classification, and image analysis algorithms.
- Strong Python programming skills and experience with PyTorch, TensorFlow, or equivalent ML frameworks.
- Experience designing experiments, evaluating model performance, and applying statistical methods for model validation.
- Ability to translate research concepts into prototype and production-quality software solutions.
- Preferred experience with OCT, IVUS, CT, MRI, medical imaging registration, and 3D, temporal, longitudinal, or sequential imaging datasets.
- Preferred experience with foundation models, generative AI, self-supervised learning, multimodal learning, MLOps workflows, and production ML pipelines.
- Preferred familiarity with ONNX, TensorRT, TorchScript, regulated medical device software processes, FDA regulations, design controls, V&V, and AI/ML-related FDA guidelines.
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
