Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-throughput, low-latency Java microservices.
- Build and document RESTful APIs and event-driven interfaces using enterprise standards and OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
- Design asynchronous workflows and event-streaming pipelines using Apache Kafka or JMS.
- Implement optimized data persistence layers using Oracle and MongoDB, including indexing, query execution, and transactional integrity.
- Create unit, integration, and contract tests using JUnit 5 and Mockito while maintaining more than 85% automated test coverage.
- Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines and containerize services with Docker, Kubernetes, and OpenShift.
- Integrate logging, metrics, and distributed tracing using OpenTelemetry, Micrometer, Prometheus, Grafana, and Splunk/ELK.
- Participate in Scrum or Kanban ceremonies, conduct code reviews, mentor junior engineers, and provide production incident triage and remediation support.
- Conduct application systems analysis, design, construction, testing, implementation, feasibility studies, and user or operational support.
- Serve as an advisor or coach to lower-level analysts and act as a subject-matter expert for stakeholders and team members.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in systems analysis and software application programming.
- Experience managing and implementing successful projects.
- Experience developing Java applications, microservices, APIs, messaging systems, and data persistence layers.
- Working knowledge of consulting and project management techniques or methods.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in requirements.
- Bachelor’s or university degree, or equivalent experience.
- Ability to exercise independent judgment, operate with limited direct supervision, assess risk, and support compliance requirements.
