Responsibilities
- Translate product requirements, design inputs, and system architecture needs into firmware test requirements.
- Design and develop unit, integration, and system-level tests for a medical device.
- Develop Python automation scripts for firmware and hardware validation.
- Create and automate hardware-in-the-loop test setups.
- Collaborate with electrical, hardware, and software engineers to ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Document test architectures and methodologies.
- Design and implement verification and validation test plans aligned with FDA development standards.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience with Python-based automated test frameworks for embedded firmware.
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop test setups, automation, CI/CD processes, Linux-based testing rigs, and Git.
- Hands-on experience with digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
- Strong debugging skills across hardware, firmware, and software layers.
- Deep understanding of medical-device development processes, including verification and validation, design controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
- Familiarity with I2C, SPI, UART, and other communication protocols is desirable.
- Ability to understand PCB schematics is desirable.
- Experience with IoT devices is desirable.
