Responsibilities
- Provide architectural design advice based on established patterns, anti-patterns, and organizational standards.
- Lead time-boxed platform enablement engagements with defined scope, milestones, and handover.
- Develop reusable Infrastructure-as-Code modules, CI/CD pipeline templates, and golden paths.
- Define and promote engineering standards for consistency, quality, and security.
- Provide structured hypercare support after handover.
- Coach and mentor engineers by teaching underlying platform patterns.
- Maintain runbooks, onboarding guides, decision logs, and other living documentation.
- Analyze engagement and support data to identify recurring problems and platform gaps.
- Represent engineering community feedback to platform teams and distinguish training needs from platform issues.
Requirements
- 8–12 years of experience in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering roles.
- Demonstrated architectural or technical leadership.
- Hands-on working knowledge of AWS, GitLab or equivalent CI/CD tooling, Terraform or equivalent Infrastructure-as-Code tooling, observability tooling, and ITSM/workflow tooling.
- Experience applying Infrastructure as Code to cloud and on-premises targets.
- Strong communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to engineers and summarizing outcomes for leadership.
- Experience coaching or mentoring engineers and operating as an advisor rather than an ongoing builder.
- A documentation-first working style.
- Nice to have experience with API gateway technologies such as Kong.
- Nice to have familiarity with Internal Developer Portals, VM provisioning and lifecycle management, Nomad, Vault, and Artifactory.
