Base Salary
$135k - $200k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end systems design for key scanning-engine components through implementation, deployment, and ongoing iteration.
- Design and implement maintainable, well-tested, and observable scanning services in Python and Go.
- Improve scanning-engine performance, scalability, and reliability for large-scale distributed workloads and strict SLAs.
- Partner with security, product, and data teams to translate detection and scanning requirements into production-ready systems and APIs.
- Drive technical standards through rigorous code reviews, design documentation, and secure-coding practices.
- Contribute to scanning-platform architecture and roadmap decisions by evaluating tradeoffs and proposing solutions.
- Diagnose and resolve complex production issues involving scanning performance, accuracy, and stability.
- Mentor engineers through design feedback, pairing, and knowledge sharing about systems design and scanning concepts.
Requirements
- Strong experience as a Senior Software Engineer or equivalent working on backend or systems-level services.
- Proficiency in Python or Go, with the ability and willingness to work in both languages over time.
- Experience designing distributed or high-availability services with attention to scalability, reliability, and observability.
- Hands-on experience building or maintaining scanning, detection, vulnerability-scanning, security-scanning, data-processing, or similar high-throughput engine systems.
- Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and performance optimization.
- Experience working in a cloud-native environment involving containers, monitoring, and logging.
- Ability to collaborate across product, security, and platform or infrastructure teams and communicate technical tradeoffs clearly.
- Proven experience owning projects end to end from problem definition and design through implementation, rollout, and iteration.
- Ability to make pragmatic technical decisions in a fast-paced, evolving environment while maintaining quality and security.
- Experience with testing, static analysis, code reviews, and building maintainable systems.
- Cybersecurity domain knowledge involving endpoint scanning is a bonus.
