Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain reliable, reusable, testable platform services and core capabilities.
  • Improve application, ingestion, and data-layer scalability, resilience, performance, and code quality.
  • Design ClickHouse tables, partitioning, indexes, materialized views, compression, codecs, and TTL policies for analytical workloads.
  • Operate ClickHouse production clusters, including sharding, Distributed tables, ClickHouse Keeper, ingestion, query profiling, tuning, storage policies, upgrades, and monitoring.
  • Build or support high-throughput ingestion pipelines using streaming, asynchronous processing, batch loading, or change-data-capture workflows.
  • Troubleshoot merge backpressure, part explosion, mutation storms, memory and thread usage, and other production issues.
  • Participate in requirements, architecture, coding, test automation, debugging, deployment, production support, and code reviews.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Security Engineering, external partners, and distributed global teams.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines and uphold software quality, reliability, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

  • 2–10 years of experience in software engineering.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical training.
  • Deep hands-on experience with ClickHouse table design for analytical workloads and production ClickHouse operations.
  • Experience with analytical data modeling and transactional versus analytical storage trade-offs.
  • Experience with high-throughput ingestion pipelines and asynchronous or streaming processing.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL as a transactional state store alongside an analytical database.
  • High proficiency with Unix/Linux platforms and strong experience with C#, Go, and Docker.
  • Strong understanding of software architecture, high-performance scalable distributed systems, networking, security, reliability, and scalability.
  • Strong DevOps experience, including building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
  • Preferred experience with Kafka, event-driven architectures, non-blocking ingestion, internal queueing, file-based loaders, decoupled write pipelines, JOIN-heavy analytical workloads, Redis, OpenSearch, AWS, and large-scale production deployments.
  • Preferred knowledge of Linux filesystems, memory, multithreading, operating systems, networking, databases, servers, and storage.
