Responsibilities
- Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle.
- Write, review, and refactor efficient Java code and improve platform reliability, robustness, performance, and operability.
- Design, build, run, troubleshoot, and test products and services hosted on-premises and in the cloud.
- Work with a self-organizing team to deliver product and technology initiatives using established priorities.
- Lead engineers on large product initiatives and provide technical coaching to less experienced engineers.
- Lead technical discussions and serve as a technical decision-maker for teams, platforms, products, or major projects.
Requirements
- At least five years of commercial experience with the Java programming language.
- At least five years of professional experience in web system design and development.
- Experience developing RESTful applications with Spring Boot or related frameworks.
- Familiarity with AWS, cloud-native applications, and microservice architectures.
- Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including SQL and DDL.
- Comfort working in Unix/Linux environments.
- Strong analysis, problem-solving, written, and spoken communication skills.
- Experience with Redis or Hazelcast caching strategies is preferred.
- Familiarity with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other messaging technologies is preferred.
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Docker, and continuous deployment and integration tools is preferred.
- Experience leading a small team of developers is preferred.
- Experience with Scrum, Kanban, or other Agile methodologies is preferred.
- Frontend experience with HTML, JavaScript, or React is a plus.
- Experience acting as the primary technical decision-maker for a team, platform, product, or major project is preferred.
