Base Salary

$129k - $207k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design systems and components for the Media Platform.
  • Own complex projects from inception through completion.
  • Build and maintain systems for processing, compressing, storing, streaming, and serving image, video, and audio assets.
  • Ensure the availability, reliability, security, and scalability of media platform systems.
  • Develop backend systems and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring in cloud and microservices environments.
  • Collaborate with upstream, downstream, and cross-company engineering teams and stakeholders.
  • Integrate with LLM and GenAI technologies while maintaining customer data and safety standards.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership.
  • Participate in the production on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience developing backend systems with Java and Spring in cloud environments and microservices architectures.
  • Practical experience with web application development and strong RESTful API development skills.
  • Experience building large-scale, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
  • Understanding of transaction control and consistency models.
  • Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as CockroachDB and MongoDB.
  • Experience with cloud services and tools for storage, identity and access management, monitoring, analytics, messaging, and databases.
  • Google Cloud Platform experience is preferred, with equivalent experience on another cloud platform accepted.
  • Experience with media content management involving images, video, and audio, plus familiarity with media standards.
  • Experience with CDN technologies and caching architectures.
  • Ability to collaborate with stakeholders and engineers, challenge established workflows, adopt effective AI tools, and maintain customer data and safety standards.
