Base Salary
$180k - $260k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own major projects in the dual execution stack for DuckDB.
- Build a cloud platform for dynamic resource assignment.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to maintain user experience.
- Push the state of the art in embedded database performance.
- Mentor teammates and share DuckDB expertise.
- Work with the support team to debug issues and prioritize improvements.
- Identify architectural challenges and clear bottlenecks.
- Collaborate with DuckDB Labs to align on APIs.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping complex backend systems.
- Fluency in backend languages like C++, Rust, or Java.
- Foundation in query engines, execution plans, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with DuckDB is a plus.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure and low-latency distributed systems.
- Ability to scope and lead cross-functional projects.
- Strong design skills and ability to make thoughtful tradeoffs.
- Comfortable mentoring peers and fostering a collaborative environment.
