Responsibilities
- Own major projects in the dual execution stack for seamless query processing.
- Build a cloud platform for dynamic resource assignment.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to maintain a coherent user experience.
- Push the state of the art in embedded database performance and distributed execution.
- Mentor teammates and share DuckDB expertise through documentation.
- Work with the support team to debug issues and prioritize improvements.
- Identify architectural challenges and clear bottlenecks proactively.
- Collaborate with DuckDB Labs to align on APIs and future developments.
Requirements
- Experience building and shipping complex backend systems.
- Fluency in backend languages like C++, Rust, or Java.
- Strong foundation in query engines, execution plans, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with DuckDB is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and low-latency distributed systems.
- Ability to scope and lead cross-functional projects.
- Clear thinking and careful design skills.
- Comfortable mentoring peers and fostering a collaborative environment.
