Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and internationally diverse squads in an Agile environment.
- Guide the design and implementation of Oracle database configurations.
- Manage, enhance, and optimize reliable database solutions supporting ING’s systems.
- Support automation initiatives using scripting and programming techniques.
- Ensure the security, performance, scalability, and reliability of critical banking systems.
- Identify and mitigate risks to reduce incidents and outages.
- Advise squads on resource usage, lifecycle management, and capacity planning.
- Assist with performance optimization and SQL tuning.
- Organize knowledge-sharing and awareness sessions for Oracle consumers.
- Conduct reliability interviews with Asset Owners and establish database best practices.
- Coordinate strategic projects with other IT teams and contribute to the ING Oracle community.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree, or equivalent, in Computer Science.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in complex IT environments.
- Extensive knowledge of Oracle Database Architecture, Performance Tuning, and Data Management.
- Oracle OCP/OCM certification or equivalent.
- Experience with Oracle Exadata and Multitenant Architecture.
- Knowledge of PL/SQL.
- Experience with ELK Stack, Grafana, and Prometheus for monitoring and alerting.
- Experience with Ansible, Korn/Bash Shell, and Python for scripting and automation.
- Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, and Azure Pipelines.
- Ability to address complex database issues effectively.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and understanding of reliability, scalability, and fault tolerance.
- Strong critical-thinking, collaborative problem-solving, communication, and relationship-building skills.
