Base Salary
$298k - $351k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the reliability, performance, functionality, cost-efficiency, SLOs, observability, and on-call responsibilities for production ML systems.
- Architect the ML platform, including feature store, model registry, ML CI/CD, data infrastructure, and standardized service patterns.
- Replace manual notebook hand-offs with automated, pull-request-driven deployment workflows incorporating data quality checks and statistical model validation.
- Improve system cost and latency through architecture, hardware selection, and model optimization.
- Establish workflows, standards, KPIs, and onboarding foundations for a future MLOps team.
- Design automated data drift and concept drift monitoring and lay the groundwork for continuous training architectures.
Requirements
- 7+ years of software engineering experience, including significant experience operating ML or data-intensive systems in production at scale.
- Deep experience with model serving, feature stores, model registries, and ML CI/CD, using tools such as SageMaker or Triton.
- Strong infrastructure and platform engineering fundamentals, including Kubernetes, containerization, cloud infrastructure, Terraform/IaC, observability, and incident response.
- Experience designing ML platforms or significant components of an ML platform, with judgment about when to build versus buy.
- Ability to set technical direction as the most senior MLOps voice and collaborate with ML, data, platform, data science, and product engineering teams.
- Healthcare, regulated-data, or other high-stakes production ML experience is preferred but not required.
