Responsibilities
- Own AI experiments end-to-end, from shaping hypotheses to iterating on results.
- Partner with ML Engineering to productize and harden ML prototypes for production.
- Design agent action schemas and tool contracts for predictable model behavior.
- Build retrieval systems for agent context, focusing on chunking and indexing strategies.
- Create orchestration systems for agent workflows, including stateful sessions and failure recovery.
- Establish evaluation loops that integrate deterministic validation and model-based review.
- Design human-in-the-loop flows for safe execution of high-impact actions.
- Engage with users and stakeholders to refine problem framing and validate assumptions.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in shipping production software with customer-facing AI features.
- Proven ownership of high-impact problems from concept through deployment.
- Experience in building AI agent systems, including tool use and context management.
- Familiarity with designing and operating retrieval systems backed by vector databases.
- Strong backend systems skills, particularly in stateful services and real-time workflows.
- Experience managing AI costs in production environments.
- Ability to collaborate across research, ML platform, and product teams.
- Strong product engineering instincts to prioritize value-creating features.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a remote environment.
