Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance production-grade Java backend services, REST APIs, and application features.
- Design scalable software solutions, API contracts, architecture improvements, and performance optimizations.
- Provide production support, troubleshoot application and OCI service issues, and improve playbooks, alerts, monitoring, and observability.
- Define and implement functional, non-functional, unit, and integration testing in partnership with QA.
- Debug multithreaded applications, resolve defects, and implement API versioning, lifecycle, and interoperability strategies.
- Apply secure coding practices, maintain and patch systems, and improve service availability, health, and reliability.
- Lead code reviews, coordinate feature delivery, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate across teams and with customers.
- Use incidents, telemetry, customer feedback, and live-site reports to prioritize improvements and refine the backlog.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience, including a minimum of 5 years of Java development.
- Strong expertise in Core Java and object-oriented programming principles.
- Solid SQL knowledge, including database development and stored procedures.
- Experience building Java backend services and REST APIs.
- Experience writing automated tests with JUnit, TestNG, or PyTest.
- Experience debugging and troubleshooting multithreaded applications.
- Experience with continuous integration and automated build pipelines.
- Strong programming, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently on moderately complex software design, development, troubleshooting, and optimization tasks.
