Senior Software Engineer, Care Automation
Toast, Inc.Responsibilities
- Design, build, and own backend services and APIs for Customer Care Agent workflows.
- Build and maintain integrations across Salesforce, billing middleware, document management, and iPaaS workflow automation platforms.
- Write automated tests, participate in code reviews, and maintain system quality and reliability.
- Monitor feature rollouts, respond to incidents, and improve systems using performance data and customer feedback.
- Partner with product, design, Salesforce developers, AI engineers, operations stakeholders, and other cross-functional teams to define and deliver requirements.
- Use AI-augmented development tools to improve development velocity and code quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of experience delivering production backend systems at scale.
- Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or another object-oriented language.
- Familiarity with API lifecycle management, including versioning, documentation, and deprecation.
- Hands-on experience building with LLMs in production environments.
- Strong understanding of query languages, data modeling, and data distribution.
- Experience with microservices and event-driven architectures.
- Familiarity with Workato or a similar iPaaS platform is preferred.
- Prior experience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms is preferred.
- Experience or comfort working with React and GraphQL is preferred.
