Base Salary

$192k - $308k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on technical leadership across architecture, design, integration, implementation, scalability, resiliency, security, and operational readiness.
  • Design reliable platform capabilities for transaction workflows, lifecycle visibility, operational insight, reporting, reconciliation, and high-volume processing.
  • Remain involved in architecture and code reviews, proof-of-concepts, performance analysis, debugging, technical troubleshooting, and production-readiness decisions.
  • Lead technical design for event correlation, transaction matching, settlement state management, retries, dead-letter queues, replay, idempotency, batch file movement, and high-throughput data movement.
  • Set technical direction for platform services, integration patterns, event flows, lifecycle services, reporting APIs, observability, operational controls, and production support.
  • Coordinate with application, payment, data, product, architecture, security, privacy, risk, governance, operations, and partner-integration teams.
  • Apply AI/ML, generative AI, automation, and intelligent engineering practices to improve delivery, observability, reconciliation, troubleshooting, developer productivity, and business outcomes.
  • Mentor senior engineers and technical leads through design reviews, technical discussions, problem solving, and production troubleshooting.
  • Communicate technical strategy, tradeoffs, risks, dependencies, and recommendations to executives, product partners, architecture forums, and engineering teams.
  • Drive improvements in reliability, performance, observability, maintainability, developer productivity, operational excellence, and production support.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience with a bachelor's degree, 7 years with an advanced degree, 4 years with a PhD, or 13 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred experience includes 15 years of progressive technical leadership and broad influence across platforms, products, or engineering organizations.
  • Deep expertise designing, building, and scaling mission-critical distributed systems with high availability, scalability, resiliency, security, and operational excellence.
  • Experience setting technical direction and influencing architecture and strategy across multiple teams and domains.
  • Expert proficiency in programming, API-first development, system design, software architecture, testing, deployment, debugging, performance tuning, and operational troubleshooting.
  • Mastery of cloud platforms, Kubernetes, containerized deployment models, and distributed architecture patterns.
  • Deep experience with event-driven systems, Kafka, event streaming, and high-throughput data processing.
  • Experience with transaction processing, reconciliation, reporting, analytics, workflow orchestration, lifecycle management, and other business-critical systems.
  • Experience delivering modern web interfaces, dashboards, or data visualization using React, Angular, TypeScript, micro-frontends, reusable components, accessibility, responsive design, and secure API integration.
  • Experience with AI-enabled engineering practices, automation, developer productivity improvements, or intelligent systems in production.
  • Experience in payments, financial services, fintech, clearing and settlement, or high-scale transaction processing.
  • Experience with SFTP, batch processing, payment network protocols, event correlation, transaction matching, retry mechanisms, dead-letter queues, event replay, idempotency, and distributed data consistency.
  • Experience with PCI-DSS, SOX, financial services regulatory compliance, security standards, audit readiness, and operational controls.
  • Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, mentoring, and executive collaboration skills.
