Base Salary
$115k - $235k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead development and begin architecting scalable, elastic distributed-system components.
- Optimize systems and data paths for large-scale processing and high-throughput workloads.
- Design fault-tolerant, durable systems with redundancy, replication, automatic failover, and in-service upgrades.
- Implement strategies for network partitions, load-shedding, throttling, rate-limiting, and service-level objectives.
- Define KPIs and telemetry and build dashboards and alerting for system health.
- Design functional, correctness, replication, synchronization, performance, load, and fault-injection testing.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues, participate in operational support rotations, and conduct root-cause investigations.
- Implement security controls, encryption, access controls, remediation plans, and cloud compliance documentation.
- Develop infrastructure-as-code automation for patching, updating, and rolling back applications.
- Coordinate moderately complex initiatives, provide technical oversight, mentor junior team members, and participate in candidate interviews.
Requirements
- Experience designing and implementing scalable distributed systems and high-throughput data-processing systems.
- Ability to design fault-tolerant systems using redundancy, replication, failover, consistency, availability, and partition-tolerance strategies.
- Experience with telemetry, dashboards, alerting, operational troubleshooting, incident response, and root-cause investigations.
- Knowledge of data replication, synchronization, correctness testing, fault injection, brownouts, performance testing, and load testing.
- Experience implementing security controls, encryption, access controls, remediation, compliance, and cloud infrastructure documentation.
- Experience developing infrastructure-as-code automation and managing patching, updates, rollbacks, and change plans.
- Ability to coordinate moderately complex projects, provide technical oversight, collaborate across teams, and mentor engineers.
- Participation in candidate interviews and hiring recommendations is expected.

- US hiring range is $114,600 to $234,600 per annum, with possible bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
