Responsibilities
- Deliver major features and architectural improvements across automated moderation pipelines, Reviewer tools, DevHub, and Add-ons application systems.
- Build and maintain production applications using Python/Django, MySQL, React, TypeScript, and asynchronous processing systems.
- Create internal developer platforms and paved paths that help teams safely develop, deploy, observe, and operate software.
- Improve CI/CD pipelines using declarative, pipeline-as-code approaches and support automated testing, staged delivery, and progressive delivery.
- Establish engineering standards for code review, production readiness, runbooks, incident response, on-call practices, testing, recoverability, and safe deployment.
- Develop observability systems and data-backed insights involving metrics, logging, tracing, service-level objectives, and actionable alerting.
- Participate in deployments, monitoring, incident response, technical documentation, code reviews, mentoring, and iterative team processes.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience building and maintaining production applications with Python/Django.
- Experience operating and improving production software systems where reliability and safe delivery matter.
- Strong experience with CI/CD systems and declarative infrastructure and pipeline practices.
- Experience with automated testing and deployment workflows, including integration testing and staged or progressive delivery.
- Experience building or maintaining internal tools or platforms used by engineering teams.
- Experience defining or improving engineering practices such as operational readiness, runbooks, incident response, on-call expectations, and definitions of done.
- Ability to understand unfamiliar codebases and trace behavior across frontend, backend, asynchronous jobs, data stores, and infrastructure.
- Experience debugging complex production issues and converting findings into lasting system improvements.
- Strong technical writing, collaboration, communication, and peer-mentoring skills.
- Bonus qualifications include Google Cloud, Kubernetes, infrastructure-as-code, policy-as-code, SLOs, error budgets, chaos engineering, disaster recovery testing, production readiness reviews, trust and safety systems, automated moderation, abuse prevention, or open-source contributions.
