Responsibilities

  • Lead the architecture, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of scalable software applications and distributed systems.
  • Drive hands-on implementation of critical features and technical initiatives using Java and JVM-based technologies.
  • Design resilient, secure, high-performing microservices-based solutions and make sound architectural decisions.
  • Define coding standards, design principles, development practices, engineering standards, and quality gates.
  • Conduct code reviews and improve code quality, performance, maintainability, and documentation.
  • Establish testing strategies covering unit, integration, functional, and automated testing.
  • Guide CI/CD pipelines, source control practices, automated deployments, and build processes.
  • Mentor and coach engineers while promoting technical growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Collaborate with product owners, architects, business stakeholders, and engineering teams on requirements and priorities.
  • Identify technical risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges and implement mitigation plans.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise standards for scalability, reliability, security, integration, and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 7+ years of hands-on software development experience delivering scalable and reliable enterprise applications.
  • Proven experience leading the design and delivery of complex software projects, distributed systems, or large-scale applications.
  • Strong hands-on expertise in Java and solid experience with JVM-based development.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design patterns, system design, and architectural best practices.
  • Experience designing and developing microservices-based applications.
  • Hands-on experience with Docker and relational database management systems and SQL.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies, software development lifecycle practices, CI/CD pipelines, source control, automated builds, and deployments.
  • Strong understanding of automated testing frameworks and quality assurance practices.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, code review, engineering standards, and execution-driving experience.
  • Preferred qualifications include Scala or another JVM-based language, cloud platforms, Kubernetes, messaging platforms, event-driven architectures, API design, observability tools, and production-support practices.
  • Experience in large enterprise environments or regulated industries is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.
