Base Salary
$262k - $364k/yr
Responsibilities
- Drive long-term engineering strategy for YouTube Ads by incorporating business priorities and technological shifts such as new AI capabilities.
- Own key technical decisions and guide design tradeoffs, long-term strategy, system health, and risk management.
- Identify system hotspots and make technical-health investments that improve productivity and feature throughput.
- Coach and mentor current and future technical leaders through direct coaching and scalable mentorship initiatives.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to build consistent features across YouTube surfaces while balancing platform constraints.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Eight years of experience with full-stack development across back-end codebases such as Java, Python, Go, or C++ and front-end technologies including JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
- Five years of experience architecting, building, and launching large-scale digital advertising systems and platforms.
- Preferred: master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: experience leading full-stack engineering, distributed systems, or quality teams and scaling architecture.
- Preferred: experience anticipating and mitigating obstacles in ambiguous or rapidly shifting environments.
