Base Salary
$145k - $225k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and evolve a declarative orchestration core spanning Slack, Linear, cron, and HTTP triggers, durable workflows, and agent runs that suspend and resume around human approval.
- Create general abstractions so new agents and workflows compose existing platform capabilities instead of requiring separate code paths.
- Build the agent tool layer, including integrations with Slack, Linear, GitHub, Notion, MCP, and a dynamic tool registry.
- Build the React management console used to create, evaluate, and improve agents.
- Implement run tracing, evaluations and judges, feedback loops, and per-run cost attribution.
- Design and implement TypeScript and NestJS APIs backed by Postgres.
- Deploy and operate the platform on AWS using ECS, ALB, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript, Node.js, and relational databases.
- Experience building internal platforms, frameworks, orchestration systems, developer tooling, or other systems used by engineers.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs, including tool calling, context and memory, and evaluating nondeterministic behavior.
- Experience building interfaces that make complex systems easy to understand and manage.
- Experience deploying and operating production services on AWS, including containers, ECS, ALB, and CloudWatch or similar monitoring.
- Use of AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar as a core part of the development workflow.
- Keen attention to detail in code structure and style.
- At least 5 years of professional software engineering experience.
- Experience with durable-execution or workflow engines such as Temporal is a bonus.
- Experience shipping agent systems, using frameworks such as LangGraph or the Claude Agent SDK, writing MCP servers, or building evaluation harnesses is a bonus.
- Experience in high-growth startups or fast-paced product environments is a bonus.
- Interest in mentoring and helping shape engineering practices and team culture is a bonus.
