Responsibilities
- Design and implement backend services using Python, FastAPI, and PostgreSQL.
- Build applied AI workflows using the OpenAI API, LangGraph, vector databases, and search systems.
- Develop ingestion, indexing, and search pipelines for academic, clinical, regulatory, safety, patent, and other life-sciences data.
- Implement customer-facing features end to end, from data models and APIs through React and TypeScript frontends.
- Build trustworthy systems that connect AI-generated results to evidence data and enable source tracing and verification.
- Collaborate directly with founders, domain experts, and early customers while owning outcomes.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience shipping production software through completion.
- Strong backend engineering fundamentals and experience designing APIs, databases, and services.
- Production experience with LLMs, agents, RAG, vector databases, or other AI-based systems.
- Ability to work effectively across the frontend stack, including React and TypeScript.
- Ability to prioritize independently and drive ambiguous work through rapid delivery.
- Active use of AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Cursor.
