Responsibilities
- Author functional, performance, safety, cybersecurity, and interface requirements using a model-based requirements approach.
- Maintain bidirectional requirements traceability across ConOps, system, software, design, and test lifecycle stages.
- Lead requirements reviews, change control boards, and impact assessments.
- Define interface control documents, message schemas, timing budgets, and failure behaviors.
- Participate in software architecture trades involving partitioning, redundancy, data flows, and modes or states.
- Collaborate with avionics, network, FPGA, hardware, and software teams on end-to-end system integration.
- Plan and author verification methods and define testable acceptance criteria.
- Support integration activities across SIL/HIL environments, benches, labs, and flight or field test readiness.
- Support safety analyses and derived requirements, including hazard analysis, fault response, and criticality or DAL determinations.
- Communicate project progress, status, and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership.
- Implement and maintain agile project management methodologies throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency, successful completion of a pre-employment background check and drug screening, and eligibility for required export-control access.
- Demonstrated experience authoring and managing software or system requirements, maintaining bidirectional traceability, defining interfaces, supporting integration, and planning or executing verification activities.
- Proficiency with at least one requirements-management tool such as Jama, DOORS, or Innoslate.
- Hands-on MBSE experience using SysML or an equivalent modeling language in a tool such as Cameo, Rhapsody, or Innoslate.
- Working knowledge of JIRA, Confluence, and project or risk-management practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, electrical, systems engineering, computer science, or another technical or engineering field, plus 10+ years of systems engineering experience on software-intensive programs or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong organization, problem-solving, communication, technical rigor, execution discipline, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Preferred experience includes aerospace or spaceflight systems, human-rated or safety-critical programs, SIL/HIL integration, test benches, flight or field test readiness, safety analyses, GitLab CI or equivalent DevSecOps tooling, and Agile or hybrid Agile/waterfall environments.
- INCOSE membership or ASEP/CSEP certification is preferred.

- The role may require access to export-controlled technical data or technology and additional export-control screening under NASA, ITAR, or EAR requirements.
