Base Salary

$159k - $209k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable, maintainable, and secure batch and streaming data pipelines and architectures.
  • Define standards for data modeling, data product design, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Translate business and analytical requirements into performant, reliable, end-to-end data solutions.
  • Establish engineering best practices for code quality, testing, documentation, and deployment.
  • Evolve the data platform to be modular, interoperable, resilient, and easier to maintain.
  • Lead technical design and code reviews while mentoring peers and raising engineering standards.
  • Partner with data platform, analytics, and data science teams to deliver reusable data assets and shared infrastructure.
  • Identify architectural bottlenecks and drive improvements to reduce complexity and increase performance.
  • Improve data quality, lineage, observability, and system reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership across engineering, product, and analytics teams and help evaluate and onboard new technologies.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related field focused on scalable data systems and platforms.
  • Strong expertise with Spark, Airflow, Kafka, Databricks, and at least one of AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Deep understanding of data modeling, distributed systems, ETL/ELT pipelines, and streaming architectures.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one of Python, Scala, or Java.
  • Experience owning complex technical systems end-to-end from design through production.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience designing platforms for analytics, machine learning, and operational workloads is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data governance, privacy, compliance frameworks, infrastructure-as-code, and data platform observability is preferred.
  • Experience in customer-centric or product-driven environments such as digital, eCommerce, or SaaS is preferred.
  • Experience with Terraform is preferred.
