Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end technical delivery for cross-team initiatives.
- Set technical direction and execution plans in partnership with a Director.
- Build and evolve ML and GenAI systems to improve merchant quality.
- Establish robust evaluation and measurement practices for ML systems.
- Design systems with attention to quality, cost, latency, and reliability.
- Establish the ML engineering operating model for the organization.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align on goals and deliverables.
- Drive experimentation and iteration to improve user trust and shopping outcomes.
- Mentor and raise the bar for technical design and production readiness.
- Support hiring and onboarding to scale the ML engineering capacity.
Requirements
- 8+ years of industry experience in ML engineering or applied ML.
- Demonstrated ability to lead 0→1 ML/LLM efforts.
- Strong track record shipping ML-powered systems with product impact.
- Hands-on experience building LLM-powered applications in production.
- Deep experience with evaluation and measurement in ML systems.
- Strong systems design skills for data- and ML-intensive systems.
- Strong communication skills to influence technical direction across teams.
- Experience building cross-functional partnerships.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
