Base Salary
$160k - $350k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own critical system components by translating complex requirements into robust, scalable solutions for customer needs.
- Build and iterate on a high-scale document build system intended to provide constant-time indexing latency across content volumes.
- Architect and implement performance optimizations to minimize latency and maximize throughput across millions of documents.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers while providing technical leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field, with relevant coursework in data structures, algorithms, and software development preferred.
- 5+ years of software development experience at a venture-backed startup or top technology firm, focused on backend software engineering.
- Proficiency building backend and API systems with Python, Java, or Go.
- Extensive experience with cloud platforms such as AWS.
- Working experience with one or more of Kafka, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and Redis.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, propose innovative solutions, and communicate technical concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience leading software development projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, continuous-learning orientation, and enthusiasm for new technologies and frameworks.
- Comfort with rapid prototyping, user feedback, autonomy, and ownership of major initiatives.
- Experience building agentic systems or LLM-enabled products is a bonus.
- Frequent use of AI products such as Cursor or Claude Code during development is a bonus.
