Lead Backend Software Engineer
InformaticaResponsibilities
- Build and ship high-quality, production-grade backend software for Salesforce’s cloud platform.
- Design and orchestrate complex distributed systems and AI-agent integrations at scale.
- Develop efficient components and algorithms in a multi-tenant SaaS cloud environment.
- Make architecture and design decisions focused on performance, scalability, and future expansion.
- Contribute across the software development lifecycle, including design, implementation, code review, automation, and testing.
- Evaluate human- and AI-generated code for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
- Maintain shared system context containing system designs, constraints, and standards for reliable AI operation.
- Use AI development tools, prompt engineering, and system context to improve engineering workflows.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the team, depending on seniority level.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of software development experience as a software engineer.
- Deep knowledge of object-oriented programming and scripting languages including Java, Python, Scala, C#, Go, Node.js, and C++.
- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non-relational databases such as PostgreSQL, Trino, Redshift, and MongoDB.
- Experience developing SaaS products on public cloud infrastructure such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Proven experience designing and developing distributed systems at scale.
- Understanding of queues, locks, scheduling, event-driven architecture, workload distribution, and relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience using AI tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Codex, or Cursor in development workflows.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills and ability to create precise, structured prompts and reliable system context.
- Strong software development best-practice knowledge and leadership skills.
- A degree or equivalent relevant experience is required.
- Preferred experience includes generative AI, RAG systems, agentic workflows, big data or machine learning, Amazon S3, Kafka, Elasticsearch, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Experience in a high-paced, rapidly growing multinational organization is preferred.
