Responsibilities
- Design and deliver AI enabled products and platform capabilities from technical discovery through to production.
- Build scalable AI applications using Python alongside modern frontend technologies.
- Develop reliable, secure and observable AI systems designed for production from day one.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Risk and Security teams to identify AI opportunities.
- Drive technical excellence through architecture decisions, code reviews, and mentoring.
- Balance experimentation with long-term platform quality and responsible AI delivery.
- Help shape the future direction of Zip's AI platform and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Experience building production grade AI software and platforms.
- Strong experience developing AI solutions using Python and cloud technologies like AWS.
- Experience delivering scalable AI products using technologies such as React or NextJS.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and system design.
- Ability to partner with technical and non-technical stakeholders to solve complex problems.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction.
- Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer outcomes and technical quality.
- A mindset that embraces AI and new tools for continuous learning.
- Aptitude for identifying and managing risks.
