Responsibilities
- Design and deliver AI-enabled products and platform capabilities from technical discovery through production.
- Build scalable AI applications using Python and modern frontend technologies where required.
- Develop reliable, secure, and observable AI systems designed for production from day one.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Risk, and Security teams to identify valuable AI opportunities.
- Drive technical excellence through architecture decisions, code reviews, mentoring, and engineering best practices.
- Balance experimentation with long-term platform quality, operational excellence, and responsible AI delivery.
- Help shape Zip’s AI platform direction and engineering standards.
Requirements
- Experience building production-grade AI software and platforms.
- Strong experience developing AI solutions with Python and modern cloud technologies such as AWS and Kubernetes.
- Experience delivering scalable AI products using React or NextJS where appropriate.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, system design, and operational excellence.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders on complex business problems.
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction through collaboration and engineering leadership.
- Excellent communication skills and a pragmatic approach to balancing customer outcomes, delivery speed, and technical quality.
- Aptitude for identifying and managing risks and commitment to Zip’s values.
