Responsibilities
- Own the overall architecture of digital twin engines, services, scene SDKs, mapping SDKs, and cross-platform integration, including platform boundaries, module layers, interfaces, plugin mechanisms, runtime configuration, compatibility, and technical evolution.
- Develop 3D geospatial capabilities using C++ and Cesium Native for 3D Tiles, terrain, glTF, raster layers, coordinate conversion, camera control, and spatial queries across Linux, Windows, Android, iOS, and Web.
- Design scene graph, layer, object, material, annotation, picking, camera, and business-overlay interfaces with maintainable rendering abstractions for Vulkan, OpenGL, Metal, and partner rendering layers.
- Design hybrid digital twin architectures combining 3D Tiles, real-time objects, and 3D/4D Gaussian Splatting, including unified coordinates, timelines, occlusion and depth relationships, layer composition, and version management.
- Integrate vehicles, equipment, tasks, trajectories, alerts, traffic, road conditions, and agent overlays, defining update, synchronization, interpolation, message-loss, latency, replay, and consistency strategies.
- Provide standardized APIs and SDKs for client teams, including Flutter native views, foreign-function interfaces, and platform bridging.
- Engineer native-view surface and texture composition, gestures, focus, lifecycle, rendering threads, frame synchronization, crash isolation, and GPU resource sharing.
- Optimize level of detail, spatial indexing, frustum culling, instancing, asynchronous loading, GPU/CPU/memory/texture/cache usage, and network streaming while establishing performance budgets and compatibility matrices.
- Build diagnostics and recovery mechanisms for crashes, GPU errors, resource leaks, driver differences, corrupted scenes, and network failures.
- Research and productionize 3D/4D Gaussian Splatting, photogrammetry, point clouds, and other reality-capture technologies for high-fidelity industrial digital twins, replay, and remote operations.
- Establish SDK documentation, examples, test scenes, performance benchmarks, compatibility testing, release processes, and issue-support mechanisms while coordinating adoption across multiple technical teams.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, computer graphics, geographic information systems, surveying, digital media, automation, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of experience in 3D graphics, geospatial platforms, digital twins, game or simulation engines, or large-scale visualization platforms, including platform architecture, core-module development, and production delivery.
- Expertise in C++ and deep understanding of computer graphics, coordinate transformations, camera models, rendering pipelines, textures, meshes, spatial data structures, and GPU resource management.
- Ability to design hybrid architectures combining 3D Tiles, real-time objects, and 4D Gaussian Splatting with unified coordinates, time synchronization, depth and occlusion fusion, streaming, replay, and degradation strategies.
- Deep practical experience with one or more of Cesium Native, CesiumJS, 3D Tiles, OpenGL, Vulkan, Metal, WebGL, WebGPU, Unreal, or Unity.
- Familiarity with geospatial data, coordinate systems and projections, terrain, road networks, point clouds, photogrammetry, GeoJSON, and OpenDRIVE.
- Experience optimizing large-scale scenes through level of detail, spatial indexing, chunking and streaming, instancing, caching, asynchronous resource management, and large-scale dynamic-object updates.
- Experience with cross-platform native integration and SDK design, including C interfaces, foreign-function interfaces, threading models, lifecycles, input systems, and rendering-surface integration.
